Browse Programs Admission InformationAutomation is the science that analyzes and controls dynamic systems, which are constantly evolving and involve various disciplines. It is important in modern industry, where automation systems use diverse technologies. Industrial companies are looking for multidisciplinary specialists, proficient in computer science and industrial control, to improve process efficiency and make informed decisions.
The training in this specialty is academic in nature, lasting three years. It is largely based on mathematics, physics, electronics, automation, and computer science. It is structured into 6 semesters, with the first two (common core) dedicated to fundamental subjects (mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computer science). Starting from the third semester, the courses become increasingly specialized.
Semester 3: Mathematics 3, Waves and vibrations, Fundamental electronics 1, Fundamental electrotechnical 1.
Semester 4: Linear and continuous control systems, Combinatorial and sequential logic, Numerical methods, Signal theory.
Semester 5: Linear systems control, Power electronics, Systems modelling and identification, Microprocessors and microcontrollers, Programming in C++.
Semester 6: Sampled control systems, Actuators, Sensors and measurement chains, Programmable logic controllers, Communication buses and industrial networks.
Semester 3: Probability and statistics, Informatics 3, Electronics and electrotechnical lab, Waves and vibrations lab, State of the art of electrical engineering, Energy and environment, Technical English.
Semester 4: Electrical and electronic measurements, Linear and continuous control systems lab, Combinatorial and sequential logic lab, Numerical methods lab, Automated systems architecture, Electrical safety, Techniques of expression, information and communication.
Semester 5: Linear systems control lab, Power electronics lab, Systems modelling and identification lab, Microprocessors and microcontrollers lab, Programming in C++ lab, Standards and certification, Renewable energies: production and storage, English in automation.
Semester 6: End of cycle project, Sampled control systems, Sensors and actuators lab, Programmable logic controllers lab, Communication buses and industrial networks lab, Automated electrical installations, Maintenance and reliability, Entrepreneurship and company management.
