It aims to train specialists capable of using geomatics tools and methods for the analysis and management of geographic space, with a strong emphasis on Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, digital cartography, and spatial database management.
This program spans two years, divided into four semesters, and combines both theoretical and practical courses. It ensures that students acquire a solid grasp of fundamental concepts and advanced technologies in geomatics. The curriculum balances technical and applied aspects through case studies, fieldwork, and practical projects, enabling students to develop skills directly applicable in professional settings.
The training places particular emphasis on the integration of new technologies, including open-source solutions and Web GIS, which allow the development of interactive applications for spatial data management and analysis. Additionally, students are introduced to advanced spatial analysis techniques, geographic modeling, and GIS-related programming, providing them with expertise applicable in various sectors such as land management, environmental monitoring, risk management, and urban planning.
The program also includes a fieldwork internship and a final-year project, allowing students to apply their knowledge in a professional context. This final semester, dedicated to applied research or an internship in a company, represents a valuable opportunity to enhance their employability and ability to address current challenges related to land management and environmental issues.
Upon completion of the program, graduates can pursue various career opportunities in both the public and private sectors. They may join specialized organizations in cartography and geomatics, urban planning and land development consulting firms, research centers focusing on environmental management and risk assessment, or even advance to academic careers by pursuing a Ph.D. This Master’s program is therefore a versatile and innovative training course that meets the growing demand for geospatial expertise.
