Program Overview

The Experimental Pharmacology speciality at the University of Jijel (Algeria), launched in 2005, is a pioneering programme designed to train high-level researchers. It offers comprehensive scientific education in physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and experimental techniques, preparing students for graduate studies (Master's, PhD).

The course aims to train specialists capable of developing drugs and bioactive products, while promoting applied research, particularly in the pharmaceutical and agri-food sectors. It also focuses on biotherapy and phytomedicines, making the most of the local plant resources.

The training responds to the challenges of drug safety and public health, with qualified supervision, modern laboratories and international interventions, guaranteeing innovative training adapted to the market.

Core Courses

The pedagogical follow-up will be carried out according to the regulations in force:

  • Written tests to check the knowledge of each teaching unit
  • Practical tests to control the mastery of practical work
  • Oral presentation of personal work
  • Retake test in case of deferment of the student

Acquisition of a credit, a semester or a year if the student obtains an average equal to or greater than 10/20.

Admissions Information

To access a bachelor's degree in Algeria, candidates must:

·      Have an Algerian bachelor's degree (or recognized equivalent).

Study for three years (LMD system):

·      L1 (1st year): common core, having the basics and general knowledge

·      L2 (2nd year): common core depth of knowledge

·      L3 (3rd year): choose the specialty (experimental pharmacology)

Each academic year is divided into two semesters, and applicants must pass them to move on to the next year.
