Specialization Definition: General Linguistics

Objectives:

To establish the importance of the specialization in the linguistic and referential study of texts.
To identify the tools and methods of study through exploration, training, and intellectual openness.
To enhance the academic level of doctoral students by deepening their understanding and expanding their cognitive fields in the area of linguistic studies.
To reveal the contributions of Arab scholars and acknowledge their merit in the creation of scientific and methodological knowledge accumulation, and to recognize aspects of originality in modern Arabic linguistic study.
To enable doctoral students to employ modern linguistic study methodologies in reading various texts, both ancient and modern.
To develop and advance research in the field of linguistic studies and to keep pace with new developments in contemporary linguistic study.
To utilize contemporary linguistic mechanisms and tools to serve the Arabic language and its sciences.

Information Admission

The following conditions apply to all international students applying for doctoral studies:

A Baccalaureate (secondary school diploma) or equivalent, according to pedagogical requirements.
A Bachelor's degree (Licence) or equivalent, according to pedagogical requirements.
A Master's degree or equivalent, according to pedagogical requirements.
If the applicant does not speak Arabic, they are required to undertake a one-year Arabic language course at the Intensive Language Teaching Center at the university.
