Program Overview

The objectives of this composition are to know all the microorganisms around us (bacteria, fungi, algae and viruses), understand and monitor their activities when they are harmful (microbiological examination of samples and biological liquids, antibiotic therapy, use and improve their properties when they are useful (yeasts, yogurt, antibiotics,...)

The theoretical and practical lessons provided will allow licensed training in microbiology directly in analysis and quality control laboratories (water, food, health,... etc.) or in the production sectors (medicines, dairy products, derivatives, yeasts,...).

The skills acquired at the end of the composition allow graduates:

- Continuing studies (Master Academic or Professional) in microbiology or health, agro-engineering, bio-industry... Where microbiology dominates the problem-solving platform..

- Integration directly into working life: a hospital or private medical analysis laboratories where it can actively participate in various diagnostic activities, characterize pathogenic germs and resist antibiotics. It would also be very useful in the field of pharmaceuticals to control medicines (pharmaceutical, etc.), or at the level of EPEALs for water analysis, to supervise communities at the level of health and safety services, as well as in relation to fraud services in the food industry (canning plants, beverages, confectionery, ice cream, meat and... etc.

Admissions Information

Access to this licence is granted to students admitted in the second year of the Biosciences Sector accredited at the University of Jegel or other national universities.

The proposed Bachelor's Degree of Microbiology is driven by the importance and multidisciplinary nature of this topic, which covers many areas (basic, medical, environmental, industrial and agricultural,...). This composition will thus cover the different basic and applied aspects of microbiology to allow the student to meet the needs of different sectors of the national economy.
