Program Overview

The aim of the State Civil Engineering Structures programme is to providestudents with a scientific and technological base that will ensure their masteryof academicand practical knowledge in the various fields of construction. In addition, they willdevelop professional skills that will enable them to find employment in supervisoryand management positions in construction companies, as well as in the monitoringand control of construction projects.

The Civil Engineering training course, specialising in structures, offered by the Civil Engineering Department of the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FSA) is a five-yearprogramme in science and technology.

This programme enables students to acquirefundamental knowledge of civilengineering, build technical skills and research in the field of structures.

The Civil Engineering Structures programme is structured as follows:

-      Common ST courses (one year): Guarantee the acquisition of essential knowledge in science and technology.

-      Specialised courses in civil engineering (four years): Reinforce knowledge of civil engineering and focus on the study of structures, the different methods of design and calculation, the materials used and their impact on the environment.

Curriculum Highlights

Core Courses

The courses on the civil engineering structures course cover all the fundamental concepts of structures, a branch of civil engineering. This programme provides an in-depth study of structures, including stress calculations, design, numerical simulations and reinforcement calculations. It provides a better understanding of the behaviour of structures under the effect of various stresses: dead loads, live loads, earthquakes, wind, explosions.......

-Resistance of materials

- Building materials

- Soil mechanics

- Reinforced concrete

- Structural steelwork

- Structural dynamics

- Diagnosis of structural repairs

 - Planning and management of construction projects

Advanced Topics

In addition to the core courses, the Civil Engineering Structures programme offers advanced courses that reinforce theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the structural fields.

-       Computer-aided calculation

-      Finite elements method

-      Building Information Modeling (BIM)

-      Innovative concretes and sustainable development
