It aims to provide students with the essential knowledge and analytical skills to understand society as a whole, including various social phenomena across different domains: the family, education, the workplace, and the public sphere.
The General Sociology track serves as a fundamental base for acquiring key expertise, acting as a bridge to various Master’s specializations available both within and outside the university center. Students benefit from a rigorous academic and methodological foundation that equips them with the analytical tools necessary to examine the social phenomena surrounding them.
The Bachelor’s program at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences allows students to choose their specialization progressively according to the following structure:
First Semester: A common core for social science tracks (Sociology and Psychology). Students engage with diverse foundational subjects: Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Orthophony, and the History of Algeria.
Second Semester: Students continue in the common core with a shift in the specific modules offered.
Specialization Choice: At the end of the first year, students must choose one of the two proposed tracks for their second year:
The second year offers specialized content in General Sociology. Students explore the origins of the discipline and its significance to the individual and society. They also acquire the methodological foundations required to conduct scientific research into social phenomena as specialists.
