Program Overview

Faculty: Life and Natural Sciences

Section: Biological Sciences

Option: Fundamental and Applied Toxicology

The field of toxicology in Algeria has specific needs and requirements that must be reinforced by the training of specialized and competent professionals capable of addressing current toxicological issues and risk assessment in its various forms and origins. Risk assessment, both for the environment and human health, has become a major concern for societies today. Developing knowledge related to biological system disruptions, from molecules to organ functions, is necessary to achieve these societal goals.

This Master's program in Fundamental and Applied Toxicology will enable students to establish themselves in the field of toxicology and risk assessment. The training will also allow them to integrate into the professional world or into research and analysis laboratories. As a result, students will acquire the necessary skills to:

  • Assess public health and environmental risks.
  • Analyze the dysfunction of ecosystems in the current context.
  • Evaluate the risks of pollutants for humans and the environment.
  • Study human exposure to environmental pollutants.
  • Understand the mechanisms of action of pollutants.
