Program Overview

The Arabic Literature major aims to equip students with knowledge of Arabic literature and develop their language and literature skills in general. It enables them to understand and analyze various literary texts, prepare them for scholarly research and literary criticism, and equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a teaching career or work in fields related to this major.

Curriculum Highlights

Core Courses

The LMD system allows students to train towards a first scientific degree, the license. This academic degree is obtained after three years of study, or six semesters. The first four semesters are devoted to acquiring fundamental knowledge in the field of Arabic language and literature in general (ancient literary text, ancient literary criticism, research techniques, Quranic sciences, morphology, syntax, etc.).

Advanced Topics

The last two semesters, for their part, guide the student towards specialization and excellence (Maghrebi literature, Algerian literature, world literature, Maghrebi theater, etc.)
