Browse Programs Admission InformationThe Bachelor’s program in Speech Therapy spans three years and integrates both theoretical and practical components. The first year consists of a common core that includes introductory courses in various social science disciplines—such as anthropology, philosophy, psychology, sociology, economics, and history—along with an introductory speech therapy course offered in the second semester. The second and third years focus on speech therapy through lectures and guided practical work, with the final year featuring a field internship in healthcare and educational settings. This curriculum is designed to combine academic rigor with practical skills to effectively meet the demands of the health and education sectors.
Progression from one academic year to the next is achieved either through the standard examination period or via a resit session.
The first year provides an introduction to the social sciences, including anthropology, philosophy, psychology, sociology, educational sciences, economics, history, among others. The second year focuses on the fundamentals of language production by addressing the anatomy and physiology of various systems (nervous, auditory, respiratory, and vocal), as well as linguistics, phonetics, phonology, speech therapy assessments, child and adolescent psychology, and language development. In the third year, the program deepens the study of language disorders and intervention methods in preparation for professional practice, with particular emphasis on oral language disorders, hearing impairment, intellectual disability, autism, neurological developmental disorders, aphasia, voice disorders, and evaluation and diagnostic techniques.
