The Department of Letters and English Language, attached to the Faculty of Letters and Languages at Constantine1 University, offers an academic master's degree designed to introduce students to English language and literature, while gradually preparing them for professional life. This course is spread over four (04) semesters and it is organised into several Teaching Units (TU):

- Fundamental TU

- Methodology TU

- Discovery TU

- Transversal TU

Objectives of the course (skills targeted, knowledge acquired at the end of the course )

- To deepen the knowledge acquired in the bachelor's degree.

- Training teachers of English as a foreign language.

- Introduction to research, enabling students to practise using the various methods, strategies and techniques used in recent research in language sciences and foreign language didactics.

- Acquisition of training in the fundamental disciplines necessary for language learning - morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, phonetics - and the development of a particular aptitude for language didactics and educational psychology.

- Career profiles and skills (in terms of professional integration ) :

On completion of this course, the candidate should be able to respond directly to the needs of various institutions and colleges and the socio-economic sector in terms of teaching general and functional English.

- Develop an ability to analyse and understand all aspects of the language that they will be using as a working tool, as well as an ability to select or develop the language of their choice.
