About Us

EPAU is the only public and superior Graduate School of Architecture in Algeria, which enjoys a national and international reputation. Every year, it welcomes over 300 new students. Students join EPAU from all over the country and are among the best candidates with the highest marks obtained during the Baccalaureate exam. The five years are divided as follows:

Two years of basic training, introduction to architectural language, drawing and the architectural project. At the end of this first level, a national context is organised for access to

the in-depth training. This second level lasts three years; the first as a pivotal year focuses on

architectural projection. Two other years are designed as a cycle of deepening knowledge.

Studies at “EPAU” are carried out within the framework of a speciality backed by the 03 research laboratories of EPAU and a research unit.

EPAU has three research laboratories:

- LVAP (Laboratory City, Architecture, and Heritage) which aims to study Algerian heritage questions

- VUDD (Laboratory City, Urbanism and Sustainable Development) which aims to study issues related to towns, cities and sustainable development

- LAE (Laboratory Architecture and Environment), which aims to study issues related to  architecture, landscape and the environment.

EPAU offers a five-year training programme, which are organised according to two (2) main cycles :

1- First level (basic training) cycle: two (2) years of studies (National contest), which allows selecting the best students to continue on the second cycle).

2- Second level (in-depth training) : three (3) years of studies, which culminates with a bachelor degree after a total of five years of architectural training.

 The missions of our school are:

- Exploring higher education, research science and technological development in different

specialities of architecture, construction, town planning, heritage restoration and conservation;

- Training high-level managers in the field of architecture and urban planning

- Consolidating national and international cooperation and exchange of knowledge at national and international level with national and foreign universities preparing to the same diplomas.
