Presentation of ESSBO
ESSBO is a leading institution in biotechnology and biological sciences, established through the transformation of the Preparatory School of Nature and Life Sciences by Executive Decree No. 304-17 on October 22, 2017. Its main objective is to provide top-tier training, combining theoretical courses, practical workshops, and specialized internships in:
- Molecular Biology
- Enzymatic Engineering
- Immunotechnology
- Forensic Biology (starting in September 2025)
Organization of Training
ESSBO offers an academic path structured in three cycles:
Preparatory Classes
The preparatory classes at ESSBO are a two year program aimed at preparing students for the school's entrance contest and equipping them with essential knowledge in biological sciences. ESSBO students are selected through an entrance contest based on their academic performance. Those from other schools or universities who have completed their first two years are required to take a written exam.
Second Cycle Specializations
The second cycle at ESSBO provides a three-year advanced training program with three specialized tracks:
- Molecular Biology : Delve into the world of nucleic acids, proteins, and genetic engineering.
- Enzymatic Engineering : Master the art of enzymatic reactions and protein engineering.
- Immunotechnology : Dive into the fascinating world of immunology, cellular signaling, and biomolecule engineering.
- Forensic Biology (starting in September 2025) : Learn to apply biological sciences to criminal investigations through DNA analysis, forensic toxicology, and biological trace identification.
Postgraduate training
After completing the Master's cycle, students have the opportunity to apply for a highly advanced third-cycle doctoral program in biotechnology and molecular biology.
Training of excellence
Our workshops improve learning quality with a practical approach. They last 4 to 8 hours daily, focusing on applied work. Students work independently, presenting scientific reports to enhance analysis skills. Workshops deepen knowledge of biological molecules, secondary products, and molecular techniques.

What degree will be obtained at ESSBO?
Graduate studies at ESSBO
At ESSBO, students can complete a five-year program and earn a State Engineer degree in one of four specializations: Molecular Biology, Enzymatic Engineering, Immunotechnology, or Forensic Biology.
Additionally, they have the opportunity to enroll in a 200-hour Master’s program offered within the institution. In accordance with Decree 1275, starting in 2023, ESSBO students can propose entrepreneurial projects and, upon successful completion, earn a startup/patent diploma. This initiative aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, encouraging students to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges.
Postgraduate studies at ESSBO
ESSBO offers a high-level Doctorate program in biotechnology and molecular biology, providing students with advanced research opportunities. This program promotes scientific excellence and innovation, preparing graduates for careers in academia, industry, and entrepreneurship.
