Program Overview

The academic Master's in Tourism Development and Heritage, presented by the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography, and Spatial Planning at the University of Frères Mentouri, Constantine 1, is a specialized program in the field of Earth sciences and the environment.

It is based on the principles of territorial development, which focus on the rational use of territorial resources in development for the economic and social benefit of local populations, and on the search for territorial equity in the distribution of wealth.

This Master's program aims to train experts capable of analyzing territories and diagnosing both tangible and intangible tourist assets, as well as human skills that can be valorized for regional development. It also prepares students to create effective tourism projects, tailored to the specificities of each region, and to enhance local heritage, thereby contributing to its preservation while strengthening and promoting the tourist destination.

The program spans two years, divided into four semesters, and combines theoretical, directed, and applied teaching to ensure that students gain an in-depth understanding of key tourism concepts. This includes techniques for field analysis, creation and management of tourism projects, and the promotion and marketing of tourism products. It also offers a balance between technical and practical aspects through case studies, field training, and applied projects, enabling students to acquire skills that are directly transferable to the professional world.

This specialization enables students to acquire advanced spatial analysis skills using GIS, offering them an experience that prepares them to intervene in various fields such as the tourism development of territories, the preservation of archaeological and heritage sites, and urban planning aimed at protecting urban heritage.

The program also includes a practical internship and a final project, providing students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a professional context while enhancing their employability and ability to address current challenges in territorial management.

After graduation, students can pursue various careers in both the public and private sectors. They can join institutions specializing in tourism planning and management, urban planning and development consultancies, territorial planning research centers, or continue their graduate studies. This Master's thus constitutes a multidisciplinary and innovative program, responding to the growing demand for expertise in the field of geospatial data.
