Program Overview

The Doctor of Pharmacy training program is structured around theoretical courses, tutorials, and practical work aimed at training competent professionals in the dispensing, manufacturing, and quality control of medications. The courses cover fundamental disciplines such as pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, microbiology, and biopharmaceutics. The tutorials allow for a deeper understanding of concepts through case studies, prescription analysis, and clinical situation simulations. The practical work includes laboratory manipulations for pharmaceutical formulation, quality control of medications, and identification of active substances. The program also includes hospital and pharmacy internships for professional immersion, as well as modules on ethics, pharmaceutical legislation, and healthcare facility management.

Advanced Topics

Advanced topics include the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs, the research and development of new molecules, as well as innovative therapies such as biopharmacy and personalized medicine. The program also covers pharmacovigilance and epidemiology to assess the long-term effects of medications, as well as pharmaceutical nanotechnology for improving the delivery of active ingredients. Finally, health systems engineering and clinical trial management are integrated to prepare future pharmacists for the challenges of innovation and regulation in the pharmaceutical industry.

Admissions Information

Access to higher education and training is open to holders of a baccalaureate or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification.

A new registration procedure has been implemented by the Ministry of Higher Education since the 2014/2015 academic year, whereby pre-registration, orientation, and appeals for new baccalaureate holders are conducted exclusively online.
