Industrial Hygiene and Safety (L)

The technological advancement of emerging socio-technical systems has led to a considerable multiplicity of sources of danger, which seem to be taking a step ahead of the available means concerning the safety of property, people and the environment.In this context, the proposed training program (Professional License in Hygiene, Safety and Environment (HSE) in the Oil and Gas Industry) was designed to meet the skills needs of companies in terms of professionals in the safety of oil and gas processes (increasingly complex) in Algeria. More specifically, the main objective of this training is to equip students with the necessary expertise to implement a safety management policy for oil and gas installations. As such, the training program was jointly developed and validated by the various socio-economic partners mentioned above, who are best placed to know the skills needs required regarding safety in this sector of activity. It should be noted that the proposed training includes internships in companies throughout the curriculum (to discover the world of work, define or consolidate projects, and build on acquired knowledge).

The proposed training is multidisciplinary and is based on three complementary aspects:

- Scientific and technological knowledge to properly understand the various aspects necessary for identifying and assessing risks, as well as proposing the most appropriate safety measures.

- Regulatory and legal knowledge of risk management, in order to implement an approach that complies with current regulations.

- Knowledge of the humanities to understand the psychosocial dimension of individual and group behavior, which is essential for critical communication and management activities.
