Program Overview

This academic Master's program aims to offer comprehensive and reliable training, providing students with a solid foundation in linguistics and language studies. The curriculum covers key areas such as phonetics, lexicology, syntax, and lexicography—fields that are closely linked to and enriched by sociolinguistics (including sociophonetics and dialectology), psycholinguistics (where meaning is understood as a mental construct), neuropsychocognitive approaches (focusing on the brain's role in language), and onomastics (the study of names). In essence, the program aims to develop well-defined, specialized skills in these areas.

Another key objective is to build on the groundwork laid during the undergraduate degree, where students spent six semesters exploring the foundations of oral language. This Master's program in linguistics highlights the importance of speech and expression, especially in light of modern approaches to teaching and learning foreign languages. By developing analytical thinking through linguistic study, students will strengthen their academic profiles as future educators and researchers.

This program is open to students who hold a Bachelor's degree in French Language and Literature,

to those who have accumulated 180 credits through regular academic sessions,

and to students with a grade point average of at least 12 out of 20.
