Environmental Geology

Environmental Geology: The geologist plays a crucial and indispensable role as a professional in environmental management. The Master’s program in "Environmental Geology" offers an academic pathway designed to complete the education of students with a background in geology acquired during their undergraduate studies. The trained professionals are capable of addressing natural phenomena related to environmental sciences. They will be able to assess natural risks and propose preventive solutions as well as modeling concepts (landslides, impacts of soil and water contamination, pollution, etc.). This is closely linked to sustainable protection and improving living conditions. 

These specialists will contribute their expertise in the analysis, qualitative and quantitative description of geological objects or processes, and the selection of sites for infrastructure projects (roads, railways, housing, civil engineering structures, etc.). Regarding the pedagogical knowledge acquired through this program, it focuses on in-depth understanding of natural risks and environmental factors (pollution of air, soil, atmosphere) using GIS and remote sensing techniques. Emphasis is also placed on everything related to heritage (natural, archaeological, material, etc.).
