Program Overview

The National Higher School of Statistics and Applied Economics (ENSSEA) offers a distinguished PhD program in Statistics and Data Science, designed for holders of a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification in relevant fields. The program spans a minimum of three (3) years and a maximum of five (5) years, and aims to train highly qualified researchers capable of developing innovative solutions to complex problems across diverse sectors such as health, economics, industry, and the environment.

Admission to the program is through a national competitive examination organized periodically by the school. The competition is open to candidates holding a relevant Master’s degree. Applicants are assessed through two main subjects:

  1. Fundamentals of Statistics
  2. Introduction to Statistical Learning (as the specialization subject)

The first year of the program is dedicated to doctoral seminars, which focus on deepening students’ methodological and scientific knowledge. During this phase, candidates work closely with their academic supervisors to develop and refine their research project, forming a solid foundation for their subsequent research work.

Throughout the program, students benefit from high-level academic supervision and a stimulating research environment, with opportunities to engage in national and international research projects. The program also emphasizes the development of transversal skills such as scientific writing, project management, academic presentation, and teamwork.
