Program Overview

The primary objective of this doctoral program is to prepare students for research activities or those closely related to academic and industrial research. The medium- and long-term prospects of this program are to meet the demands of basic research in Life and Health Sciences, as well as the needs of the industrial sector in the field of research and development. This program provides training in scientific research in pharmacotoxicology and biochemistry.

Our research focuses on the isolation and study of the properties of plant-derived compounds and includes the design and development of new molecules for therapeutic purposes and the development of biomedicines. The same theme will address the mechanisms of interaction between substances and biomedicines and biological systems. The methodological area aims to provide knowledge of fundamental techniques for the separation and functional characterization of biomacromolecules and low-molecular-weight biochemical components of cells. Graduates will be able to:

- Synthesize and apply this knowledge; - Effectively use relevant information and documentary resources to independently manage their research project, adapt or design research or analysis methods;

- Engage in a process of sharing and transferring knowledge and expertise in a variety of situations and develop their communication skills;

- This research must also generate scientific publications in specialized journals.
