Plant production

The doctoral program in plant production offers:  

• To train researchers specializing in plant production sciences capable of developing efficient and sustainable agricultural systems.  
• To improve crop productivity and quality through scientific research and the application of advanced technologies.  
• Promote the use of modern technologies (such as precision agriculture, sensors and artificial intelligence) in the management of agricultural systems.  
• Develop new plant varieties resistant to biotic and abiotic stresses (drought, salinity, diseases, pests, etc.).  
• Rationalize the use of natural resources (water, soil, fertilizers) and achieve environmental sustainability.  
• Understand the interaction between plants and the environment and analyze the impact of climate change on production.  
• Spread the culture of sustainable agriculture and provide smart solutions to food security challenges.  
• Prepare applied research projects that meet the needs of the national and international agricultural sector.  
• Transfer knowledge and technologies to farmers and agricultural professionals through training and support.  
• Contribute to the development of agricultural policies by providing recommendations based on scientific research.
