Urban Architecture, Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence

Urban architecture reveals the idea of a rediscovered relationship between architecture and the city, focused on the creation of the city. The key element is the demand for continuity between city and architecture, and between old and contemporary cities, at a time of claiming the independence of architecture from its context. Finally, the relationship between city and architecture raises the issue of heritage; how to protect historic centres while promoting their evolution.

Today, these challenges are coupled with analytical tools and resources generated by digitalization and artificial intelligence for an in-depth diagnosis of urban problems and an interdisciplinary approach to solving urban issues focused not only on questions of aesthetics and urban form, but also on targeted interventions generated by long-term processes.

It is a doctoral training with a focus on Urban Architecture and the implications of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in order to face the new urban challenges of our cities. The new tools and means of communication coupled with AI can provide a range of data required in the architectural and urban design. A comprehensive use of these means can considerably improve the efficiency of the proposed solutions.
