About Us

‘Striving for Excellence’

Under the slogan ‘Striving for Excellence’, the University of Adrar seeks to achieve a number of objectives contained in the higher education development strategy outlined under the reform of the higher education and scientific research system in Algeria, the most important of which are:

- Meeting the training needs according to the requirements of the labour market and local, national, African and international development.

- Encouraging scientific production and valorising its results, and qualitatively and quantitatively upgrading the level of education, training and scientific research at the university.

- Keeping the university abreast of scientific and technological developments at the local, national, African and international levels.

- Openness of the university to the socio-economic and professional environment for the purpose of contributing to the achievement of the comprehensive national development strategy.

  • The Faculty of Islamic Sciences includes: Department of Sharia, Department of Fundamentals of Religion, Department of Islamic Language and Civilisation.
  • Faculty of Arts and Languages: It includes: Arabic Language and Literature, French Language Department, English Language Department.
  • Faculty of Science and Technology: It includes: Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Mining Engineering, Department of Prevention, Security and Environment, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Hydrocarbons and Renewable Energies.
  • Faculty of Material and Mathematical Sciences and Automated Media: It includes: Department of Material Sciences, Department of Mathematics and Automated Media.
  • Faculty of Law and Political Science: It includes: Department of Public Law, Department of Private Law, Department of Political Science.

Enrolment Requirements


Enrolment in the Bachelor's degree

Enrolment in the Bachelor's degree is subject to the following conditions:

1. Possession of a baccalaureate certificate or an equivalent certificate: Candidates must hold a baccalaureate degree or a foreign degree whose equivalent is recognised by the competent authorities.

2. Availability of places: Students are admitted according to the capacity of each university or higher education institution, and if the number of applicants exceeds the capacity, they are ranked according to additional criteria such as the overall baccalaureate average.

3. The registration procedure: It includes registration via a digital platform.


Enrolment in the Master's programme

To enrol in the Master's programme, the following conditions must be met:

1. Possession of a Bachelor's degree (or an equivalent degree): Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in a discipline that is identical or complementary to the specialisation required for the Master's degree.

2. Respect the admission criteria: Criteria such as GPA are relied upon.

3. Availability of seats: The number of seats available for each specialisation is determined based on the framing and pedagogical capacities of the university institution.

4. Respecting the ranking and evaluation system: If the number of applicants is greater than the number of available seats, they will be ranked according to academic criteria such as GPA.

5. Registration procedure: It includes online registration through a dedicated digital platform, then waiting for the admission results, and then completing the final registration at the institution.
