Program Overview

**Specialty: Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery** 

**Duration:** 5 years (Residency) 

**Content:** 

- Comprehensive training in musculoskeletal surgery, trauma, and pediatric orthopedics. 

- Mastered techniques: 

 - Osteosynthesis (external fixation, plates, nails) 

 - Arthroscopy (shoulder, knee, ankle) 

 - Joint replacements (hip, knee) 

 - Spine surgery (scoliosis, disc herniation) 

- Specialized modules: 

 - Sports traumatology 

 - Oncologic orthopedics 

 - Hand surgery 

 

**Mandatory internships:** 

- Trauma emergencies (Batna CHU) 

- Orthopedic operating rooms 

- Functional rehabilitation 

- Optional: Foot surgery or pediatric orthopedics 

 

**Requirements:** 

- On-call duties (minimum 4/month) for trauma emergencies. 

- Participation in multidisciplinary meetings (radiologists, rheumatologists).

Admissions Information

**Requirements:** 

- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) recognized by Algeria. 

- Equivalence approval from the Ministry of Higher Education. 

 

**Procedure:** 

- Application via **Study in Algeria** platform. 

- Selection based on academic records + technical interview. 

 

**Language:** 

- Teaching in **French** (minimum B2 level). 

- Medical Arabic courses recommended for clinical communication.
