The project emphasizes the importance of this type of ijtihad in addressing contemporary issues, while analyzing its applications in both classical and modern Islamic jurisprudence.
The project aims to:
· Anchor the concept of maqâsidî ijtihad: clarifying its meaning, foundations, and its place within the system of principles.
· Examine the evolution of maqâsidî thought: from the early imams like Al-Shâtibi to scholars of the modern era.
· Analyze legal applications: presenting practical examples drawn from legal heritage and contemporary experiences.
· Discuss challenges: highlighting the challenges faced by maqâsidî ijtihad in the modern era. Recommendations: proposals to strengthen the role of maqâsidî ijtihad in Islamic jurisprudence.
