Program Overview

The effort to interpret the objectives in Islamic jurisprudence: principles, applications, and contemporary challenges: This project aims to study the concept of maqâsidî ijtihad as one of the most important methods of ijtihad in Islamic jurisprudence, which combines respect for legal texts and the objectives of Sharia. The project emphasizes the importance of this type of ijtihad in addressing contemporary issues, while analyzing its applications in both classical and modern Islamic jurisprudence.

The project aims to:

· Anchor the concept of maqâsidî ijtihad: clarifying its meaning, foundations, and its place within the system of principles.

· Examine the evolution of maqâsidî thought: from the early imams like Al-Shâtibi to scholars of the modern era.

· Analyze legal applications: presenting practical examples drawn from legal heritage and contemporary experiences.

· Discuss challenges: highlighting the challenges faced by maqâsidî ijtihad in the modern era. Recommendations: proposals to strengthen the role of maqâsidî ijtihad in Islamic jurisprudence.
