The University Larbi Ben M'hidi of Oum El Bouaghi was initially created as a Teachers Training School by executive decree N ° 314/83 of 07/05/1983, it was changed into a National Institute of Higher Mechanics (INSM) by executive decree N ° 255/84 of 18 / 08/1984, then a University Center, sheltering four Institutes, by executive decree N ° 158/97 of 10/05/1997 holding the name of the martyr Larbi Ben M’hidi in November 1999. The University Center was promoted to University, by executive decree n ° 09/06 on 04/01/2009.

At present, the University is constituted of (7) faculties and three (3) institutes:

located in 5 campuses including, three in the provincial capital, Oum El Bouaghi; one in Ain Beida (Faculty of Science and Applied Sciences); and one in Ain M’lila (Institute of Technology), in addition to a branch of the Faculty of Medicine.

The University, with a wide specialty spectrum, is particularly famous for the academic level in fundamental research (mathematics, physics, chemistry, natural sciences and life sciences), as well as in the field of the human and social sciences and the economic and commercial sciences. The training offer is diversified at all levels, License and Master as well as in PhD degree.

The University of Oum El Bouaghi is actively involved in several international collaboration projects with Europe and the United States, such as the Tabadul project with Florida International University and Erasmus projects, including DIGITAQ, IMPROVE, and VRinVET.

Furthermore, Larbi Ben M'hidi University of Oum El Bouaghi fosters cooperation with foreign universities from Europe, the Arab world, and the United States, promoting scientific exchanges and collaborations. Bachelor’s Degree

Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.)

1. Description: A doctoral degree is the highest level of academic accomplishment, typically obtained after several years of specialized research and the completion of a dissertation.
