Program Overview

The Bachelor's degree in Ecology and Environment is an academic program focused on research and training in several areas of ecology. This program begins with four semesters of the core curriculum in the "Biological Sciences" program, or two semesters in Biological Sciences and two semesters in the "Ecology and Environment" program. Two additional semesters in the "Ecology and Environment" specialty lead to the Bachelor's degree in Ecology and Environment.

Ecology is one of the basic biological sciences that concerns all living beings. It is a holistic science that studies not only each element in its relationships with other elements, but also the evolution of these relationships according to changes in the environment and animal and plant populations. These relationships are described from the smallest to the most global level. Some of these subdisciplines are: ecophysiology, autoecology, population ecology, synecology, ecosystem studies, etc.

This program aims to provide graduates with the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to describe and analyze the diversity of living organisms and their environment at different levels of perception (from the cell to the ecosystem) using static, evolutionary, and functional approaches.

This program provides didactic and regulatory knowledge, and prepares students for research and the professional life of a qualified ecologist.

The program's supervisory team is composed of subject-specific instructors to ensure the smooth running of the program. The content of the various semesters and modules follows a progression that goes from the most general to the most specific, and from the simplest to the most complex.
