Program Overview

M’Hamed Bougara University of Boumerdes, through its renowned research laboratories, is launching a high-level doctoral program in the strategic field of hydrocarbons. This three-year program is open to candidates holding a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering sciences, geosciences, chemistry, energy, or applied mathematics.

Our objective is to train highly qualified researchers capable of producing innovative, high-impact scientific and industrial work across the entire hydrocarbon value chain:

Geology, Geophysics, Drilling, Production, Transport, Reservoir Engineering, Equipment Reliability and Maintenance, Refining, Petrochemicals, and Environment.

A Program Backed by Recognized Research Laboratories

Doctoral candidates will be fully integrated into a rigorous and dynamic scientific environment, supervised by renowned faculty members and working within specialized laboratories:

  • Laboratory of Hydrocarbon Physical Engineering
  • (Process simulation and optimization, porous media characterization, multiphase flow, physics applied to petroleum processes)
  • Laboratory of Equipment Reliability and Materials for the Petroleum Industry
  • (Risk analysis, predictive maintenance, facility integrity, industrial safety)
  • Laboratory of Petrochemical Synthesis
  • (Catalytic processes, heavy hydrocarbon conversion, valorization of petroleum products)
