Program Overview

This degree is relevant in the current context where the issue of livestock production development is addressed by various national agricultural policies.

Mastering animal production parameters, particularly nutrition, is fundamental to determining profitability and sustainability in animal production. It is a complex discipline that involves animal nutrition and nutritional metabolism, genetic selection, and molecular genetics. The program provides tools that promote and facilitate the application of both quantitative and molecular breeding methods.

The main objectives of this training are:

- A mastery of the scientific foundations of the disciplines involved in improving animal production, particularly nutrition and reproduction.

- Some experience in applying rationing to optimize animal production.

- The know-how necessary to integrate into programs of genetic improvement, reproductive biotechnology, or conservation of animal genetic resources.

- The skills required to meet the demands of various stakeholders in the livestock sector.

Admissions Information

Entry Requirements (indicate the Bachelor's specialties that can lead to the Master's)

For the first year (M1)

Registration for the Master's is national and open to all Bachelor's specialties (LMD) in the Agricultural Sciences program and other equivalent degrees.

* For holders of a traditional degree (bac+4), entry is limited to SNV specialties accepted by the training team chaired by the domain head (specialties from other fields are not accepted).

For the second year (M2)

Admission to the second year is open exclusively to:

* Students in the same specialization (from the chef's university or other institutions) who have completed both semesters of the first year (60 credits).
