Browse Programs Admission InformationThe medical program in Algeria is one of the most sought-after fields of study and requires a strong academic commitment over several years. It lasts seven (7) years, at the end of which the student obtains a Doctorate in General Medicine.
Program Structure
After obtaining their degree, graduates can practice as general practitioners or pursue a medical specialization (résidanat) by passing the national residency entrance exam. Specializations typically last between 4 and 5 years, depending on the chosen field
The curriculum is divided into two main categories:
📌 First Years (Pre-clinical) – Fundamental Sciences
📌 Years 4 to 6 (Clinical) – Clinical Sciences
📌 Seventh Year (Internship) – Hospital Rotation
Students complete four clinical rotations, including mandatory training in gynecology-obstetrics and pediatrics, plus two additional specialties of their choice.
The focus is on clinical examination, diagnosis, and patient management, ensuring students acquire hands-on experience before entering professional practice.
