Located 40 km east of the capital, UMBB was created in 1998 following the merger of 6 national institutes that were created in the 1970s. The University is composed of 06 Faculties and 02 Institutes, Located on 05 sites.

(Bachelor-Master-Doctorate) education architecture since 2004/2005. 78
Bachelor’s, 117 Master’s, 07 Engineer’s, and Medical Science courses are currently
available in the various fields of science and technology. The language of
instruction varies according to the discipline taught: French in science and
technology; Arabic in law and economics, business and management; English in
electrical and electronic engineering.
At the national level, the University of Boumerdes maintains
regular relations with all higher education institutions; 92 agreements signed,
including 60 with the socio-economic sector to strengthen the links between the
University and its socio-cultural partners-economic through concrete actions.
Internationally, UMBB has established links with foreign
institutions through 53 cooperation agreements. These relationships, constantly
strengthened, allow the mobility of students, teachers and administrative and
technical staff, and the sharing of good practices.

Our students are highly involved in scientific, associative, cultural, and sports activities, organized by 34 active clubs and associations within the university, under the supervision of teachers, as well as administrative and technical staff.
