Program Overview

This specialized program is designed to train students in the field of biochemistry as applied to human health, equipping them with comprehensive and robust knowledge of the molecular and cellular mechanisms of life.

Through this training, students will develop an in-depth understanding of the biochemical mechanisms underlying various metabolic disorders associated with different diseases. This expertise will enable them to contribute to the prevention of such disorders, propose and/or support therapeutic strategies, and guide research and development efforts aimed at addressing pathological abnormalities.

Core Courses


Teaching is organized in the form of lectures, tutorials, practical laboratory work, and presentations or seminars.

Examinations may take various forms, including lab reports, identification sheets, mini-reviews, oral presentations, and hands-on internships.

Assessment of acquired knowledge is carried out through:

  • Lab reports on practical work results
  • Assessments evaluating mastery of practical skills
  • Oral presentations of individual work
  • Written tests for tutorials (continuous assessment)
  • Written exams at the end of each teaching unit (semester-based)
  • A final thesis and oral defense before a jury (during the last semester of the program)


Advanced Topics

Graduates of this training will also be qualified to pursue careers in university research laboratories, research centers, hospital-university analysis laboratories, and biological analysis laboratories.

They will be able to integrate into:

  • Laboratories specializing in hygiene and biochemical analysis
  • Private and public analytical laboratories in sectors such as food, bio-industry, etc.
  • Private and public research laboratories (pharmaceutical industry, healthcare, etc.)
  • They may also pursue further studies, such as a PhD program.


Admissions Information

Admission to this Master’s program is granted to students holding a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Toxicology, Experimental Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, or Molecular Biology.

For students with other degrees in Biology considered equivalent, the same criteria apply, along with a review of the candidate's application by the academic committee.
