The University of Science and Technology of Oran (USTO), founded in 1971 by Japanese architect Kenzo Tange, is one of the largest Algerian institutions for training and technological research.
USTO offers a training program for engineers as well as a pathway in Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees .
The university is composed of 07 faculties: Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences, Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering;
As well as 2 institutes: Institute of Physical Education and Sports and Institute of Applied Sciences and Techniques.
With nearly 26,000 students and 1,000 teachers, the university offers 24 undergraduate specialties and 44 postgraduate specialties. The institution focuses on providing quality education tailored to the challenges of the 21st century in the fields of engineering and technological sciences while conducting research in 35 laboratories. Required Diplomas:
- For undergraduate programs: a high school diploma or an equivalent degree recognized in Algeria.
- For graduate programs: a bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree.
Degree Equivalence:
- Students must go through a degree equivalence procedure for foreign diplomas, which is managed by the Ministry of Higher Education in Algeria.
Medical Examination:
- A medical examination is mandatory upon arrival in Algeria, in addition to regular health assessments.
Enrollment Conditions:
- International students must comply with the same enrollment conditions for university studies as Algerian candidates for their chosen program.
Languages of Instruction:
- Courses may be taught in French, or English. If a student is not proficient in the language of instruction, he can take an intensive course in that language at a specialized center within the institution.
The application file includes:
- a translated and certified copy of the diplomas required for admission to the desired study program;
- a translated and certified copy of the academic transcripts;
- a certificate of nationality, ;
-a copy of the candidate's valid passport;
- a cover letter;
- at least one letter of recommendation;
- a medical certificate attesting that the candidate is free from bacterial and/or contagious diseases;
- a recent passport-sized photo.
