Program Overview

The Master's program in Business Law aims to deepen and enrich knowledge encompassing the fundamental branches of national and international business law, including both private and public business law. It also allows students, through their selection of coursework, to orient their studies toward specialization in a specific branch of business law at the doctoral level.

Professionally, the proposed program seeks to equip students with two key pathways: one geared toward foundational research and higher education, and the other toward qualifying them for employment opportunities in the economic sector, whether in public or private domains.

This project holds significant importance as it represents a progression within the specialization of private law, which students were introduced to in their third year of undergraduate studies. Furthermore, business law aligns with the economic trajectories nations are pursuing domestically and within international economic relations. This reality underscores the undeniable imperative to provide training that equips students—whether they become judges, lawyers, professors, or executives—with a knowledge base rooted in practical, real-world contexts. Additionally, universities in countries adopting the L.M.D. system (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate) almost universally include this specialization, a factor that, combined with student demand, motivated our faculty to propose this structured, incremental project in alignment with our institutional framework.

Thus, the Master’s program serves as a phase for advanced specialization. In the first and second years of their undergraduate studies, students complete a common core curriculum that imparts general legal knowledge. By the third year, they are introduced to specializations in either private or public law—both undeniably intertwined with the economy. Moreover, the integration of public and private law branches is essential to framing and regulating economic activities, highlighting the complementary roles these disciplines play in governing economic systems.

Advanced Topics

The proposed training program facilitates the transition to various other legal specializations. On one hand, the project allows for the coverage of private law modules that govern commercial and economic activities, with openness to specializations related to legal sciences such as economic sciences. Furthermore, it enables the transition to branches of public law, considering the state's intervention to regulate economic activities, or the practice of certain economic activities monopolized by the public economic sector, or even public contracts concluded by legal persons subject to public law, which are subject to a mix of legal rules contained in both public and private law branches
