Browse Programs Admission InformationThe Master's degree in Hydrogeology at the “Mustapha Stambouli” University of Mascara offers academic training in the study, exploration, exploitation, and protection of water resources and associated ecosystems. An integrated and multidisciplinary approach is taught, focusing on multiple fundamental and applied aspects of hydrology, fundamental hydrogeology, operational hydrogeology, hydrodynamics, geophysics, hydrochemistry, mathematical tools for flow and solute transfer, geostatistics, numerical modeling, GIS and remote sensing, and risks and challenges associated with water.
The program aims to train high-level specialists in the fields of water in the natural continental environment, surface hydrology, and hydrogeology. Upon completion of the program, students will have acquired skills that can be used in the private or public sector to intervene and resolve problems related to water resources, aquifer exploitation, water resource protection, water and soil quality, water and soil pollution and remediation, and watershed management. This research and professional program trains students in the following fields:
The Master's program trains students holding a bachelor's degree in Geology from all disciplines: Applied Geology, Mining, and Geography and Regional Planning (GAT). A hydrogeologist is a groundwater specialist, also trained in surface water, aquifer exploration, exploitation, and utilization, monitoring their physicochemical and bacteriological quality, and managing associated risks.
