Program Overview

The Master's Program in General and Comparative Literature is a program designed for holders of a Bachelor’s degree in French (Class of 2026 and earlier cohorts) who have a strong interest in literature and literary text studies, and who wish to further their academic journey by closely examining literary movements, schools, and historical periods.

This two-year program, spread over four (04) semesters, follows the same Teaching Units structure as the Bachelor’s degree. There are four units in total:

·        Fundamental Teaching Unit (UEF)

·        Methodological Teaching Unit (UEM)

·        Discovery Teaching Unit (UED)

·        Transversal Teaching Unit (UET)

Each unit includes several semester-based and annual courses delivered through lectures and tutorial sessions. A significant amount of personal study hours is added to the scheduled contact hours in order to strengthen students’ academic training and develop their autonomy.
