Program Overview

The Industrial Hygiene and Safety (IHS) specialization is a Master’s program designed to train experts in industrial risk management, operational safety, and system security, integrating advanced methodological and technological tools. It aims to equip students with the necessary skills to analyze, prevent, and manage risks across various industrial sectors, including the chemical, petrochemical, energy, and manufacturing industries, as well as consultancy and auditing firms.

The program spans four semesters and is structured around core courses, methodological training, interdisciplinary studies, and discovery modules:

  • Semester 1 introduces the fundamentals of operational safety, risk analysis, and the application of mathematical and computational tools in industrial safety. It also includes hands-on training in hazard management and risk assessment.
  • Semester 2 deepens risk analysis with advanced concepts in functional safety, eco-design, and failure diagnostics. Emphasis is placed on specialized software tools, regulatory monitoring, and ethical considerations.
  • Semester 3 strengthens expertise in operational safety, statistical process control, and auditing and certification methods, while preparing students for research and thesis writing.
  • Semester 4 is dedicated to the Master’s thesis, where students conduct research projects or in-depth studies on industrial safety issues. This phase allows them to apply acquired knowledge, conduct field analyses, and propose innovative solutions to industrial challenges.
Teaching Language : The program is primarily taught in French and English.
