Program Overview

The program includes modules that study the city and the urban phenomenon as a general field of sociological knowledge. It provides students with the fundamental concepts and classical and modern theories and approaches to the urban phenomenon. It also aims to familiarize students with cognitive approaches in urban sociology and to teach them how to diagnose and address urban problems related to growth, population concentration, spatial differentiation, and environmental and ecological issues. Furthermore, it aims to impart knowledge of planning and its techniques to students and to involve them in local development by fostering an entrepreneurial spirit to encourage the creation of micro-enterprises that contribute to this development. The program also includes practical fieldwork placements that allow students to apply scientific research methods and provides them with computer and communication tools.
