Browse Programs Admission InformationThe training program of the specialty Sociology of Organization and Work is implemented within the framework of the LMD system and is designed in accordance with the pedagogical structure of university education. The program is organized over four (04) semesters, in compliance with the previously approved training offer and the applicable regulatory texts.
The first three (03) semesters are devoted to the progressive and integrated acquisition of theoretical, methodological, and applied knowledge and skills. In this regard, the program includes core courses in the sociology of organization and work, organizational theories, human resource management, social psychology of work, and the sociology of labor movements. These are complemented by specialized methodological units in scientific research, as well as in the processing and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. Furthermore, transversal and exploratory courses are incorporated, notably in information technology, artificial intelligence, foreign languages, legislation, and sustainable development, thereby contributing to students’ academic openness and professionalization.
The fourth semester is primarily dedicated to the preparation, completion, and defense of the master’s thesis. It is further supported by complementary pedagogical activities such as internships, seminars, workshops, and field-based training activities, aiming to strengthen the linkage between academic training and professional and organizational realities.
Through this training framework, the program seeks to develop qualified professionals and competencies capable of mobilizing the tools and methods of scientific sociological analysis to understand, analyze, and interpret issues related to organization and work, with due consideration to the specificities of the Algerian socio-economic context.
However, it should be noted that, as of the date of preparation of this report, the detailed pedagogical syllabi and course contents have not yet been received, which requires subsequent regularization in order to ensure the effective and optimal implementation of the training program
Advanced Qualitative Research Methods:
This course may include the study of advanced techniques for collecting and analyzing qualitative data, such as content analysis, in-depth interviews, and participant observation. It may also incorporate the analysis of new data using artificial intelligence, inferential statistics, as well as quantitative data analysis.
This program is open to any student holding a Bachelor’s degree in General Sociology awarded under the LMD system by Abdelhamid Mehri University or other Algerian universities, enabling them to enroll in the first semester of the specialty (Master 1). The number of admitted students is determined based on their ranked grade point average and the supervisory capacity of the program’s academic team, set at 80%.
Additionally, holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology obtained under the classical system may also be admitted, at a rate of 20%. However, direct enrollment in the third semester (Master 2) is not permitted, as it would deprive them of a comprehensive training in the specialty, particularly in theories, methodology, and other essential scientific knowledge. Indeed, since their degrees were obtained several years ago, their previously acquired knowledge would not enable them to keep pace with recent developments in the scientific content of the specialty.
