Browse Programs Admission InformationThe Ancient Arabic Literature program aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of Arabic literature, which flourished in Antiquity, with an emphasis on its various aspects, such as poetry, prose, and rhetoric. It also aims to develop critical analysis skills and an understanding of linguistic and literary structures. It also aims to train professionals capable of conducting scientific research in this field and contributing to the preservation of Arabic literary heritage and its transmission to future generations.
The LMD system allows students to train towards a second scientific degree, the master's degree. This academic degree is obtained after 3 years of study (6 semesters + 2 years, or 4 semesters). The bachelor's degree allows students to acquire basic and semi-specialized knowledge in the field of Arabic language and literature in general (ancient literary text, ancient literary criticism, research techniques, Quranic sciences, morphology, syntax, etc.).
In the master's degree, and more specifically in the specialization "Ancient Arabic Literature", students specialize and distinguish themselves through in-depth specializations (structure of ancient poetic discourse, structure of discourse in ancient prose, ancient and new critical Arabic poetry, intellectual structure of pre-Islamic and Islamic literature, etc.)
