Program Overview

The Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Material Sciences, Université Mohamed Cherif Messaidiah, Souk Ahras, offers students wishing to train in chemistry two specialties, namely organic chemistry (bachelor's and master's degree programs) and analytical chemistry.

The Bachelor's degree in Organic Chemistry is considered to be a fundamental scientific field of great importance in all areas of life, since medical research is indispensable to organic chemists, and industries of all kinds rely solely on chemical reactions.

This specialization focuses on the study of carbon-containing compounds, with particular emphasis on those involved in everyday chemical reactions, such as the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, plastics, fuels and organic chemicals compounds.

-This specialization aims to provide the student with the necessary knowledge of the fundamentals of chemistry, both theoretically and in terms of laboratory application. This specialization offers many opportunities to delve deeper into the science of chemistry and its fields, as the student is offered numerous opportunities to develop new horizons in this vast field.

Through this specialization, students can research specific research directions that enable them to gain full experience about them.

A student who graduates with a bachelor's degree in organic chemistry will have a wide range of job opportunities, whether in the public or private sector, including teaching chemistry, in addition to working in the industrial, laboratory and medical fields, and can also open a business project in the fields of industry, such as perfume and detergent factories, as well as participating in the development of new sources of environmentally friendly energy.
