Program Overview

Master's programs specializing in Arab and Islamic philosophy are distributed across four semesters that cover almost all topics of medieval, modern, and contemporary Arab and Islamic philosophy and are consistent with the nature of the specialization, such as theological groups, Sufism, and the modern and contemporary intellectual projects of the most prominent figures in this thought, as well as issues of renaissance, modernity, and secularism, etc.

Curriculum Highlights

Core Courses

At the beginning of each academic year, in September, a Master's degree course is launched. Students are required to complete four semesters in Arabic and Islamic Philosophy to earn a Master's degree. The Master's degree program culminates in the student submitting a graduation thesis, usually in June.

Advanced Topics

The proposed topics in the Master’s program in Arabic and Islamic Philosophy are consistent with the nature of the specialization that the student is studying, as most of the proposed programs are related to issues of Arabic and Islamic philosophy, such as theology, jurisprudence and its principles, the Imamate, the Caliphate, theological sects, Sufism, and issues and projects of modern and contemporary Arabic and Islamic thought, such as the Renaissance and new theology, etc

Admissions Information

The student is accepted into the master’s program first by automatically moving from the bachelor’s program, provided that he has obtained the bachelor’s degree in June of the same year, which represents eighty percent (80%) of the total number of available pedagogical positions. As for the remaining twenty percent (20%), the student applies through the platform designated by the university.The student is accepted based on his/her rank in the Bachelor's degree, whether classical or L-M-D, and is directed to Arabic and Islamic Philosophy according to his/her desire or based on his/her rank among his/her fellow candidates.
